Tanning Do's & Dont's

Because you want your tan to look as natural as possible and fade with grace, here is a guide for pre and post-tanning.

For the best tan results and longevity...

Pre-Tan Prep

  • ONLY apply moisturizer that is 100% fragrance-free and mineral oil-free. Natural oil such as coconut, almond, or avocado oil are okay to LIGHTLY apply if you have dry skin.

  • DO NOT apply any anti-aging or acne topicals.(Be mindful of these products even after the tan has processed, as it may cause your tan to peel.)

  • No perfume or deodorant.

  • No make-up, if getting your face tanned.

  • Shower, shave and exfoliate at least 12 hours prior to your appointment. (My favorite way to exfoliate is with a body brush.)

  • Get your waxing and mani/pedi done before hand to avoid removing the tan.

  • Wear loose, darker clothing, and slip on shoes (TIP: Bring a towel for the seat of your car if it's hot out and you're wearing shorts.)

  • During your tan you may dress down to your comfort level. (Most tan nude, however men & minors MUST wear underwear. In addition to underwear, minors must wear pasties. I do have complimentary disposable bandeau tops & pasties on hand.)

Post- Tan Care

Regular Tans Rinse anytime after 8 hours with Luke warm water. (no soap or hair products)Avoid water & sweating during that time to avoid streaks. Do not keep the bronzer on more than 24 hours or you may dehydrate your tan.

Rapid Tans Rinse off the same way within 2-5 hours. NO water or sweating until rinsed. (I will give you an EXACT time to rinse.)

TIPS:

  • Moisturize..Moisturize...Moisturize.. (Did I mention you need to moisturize?:)

  • Avoid long, hot showers, the ocean, and chlorine. These will all make your tan fade quickly.

  • Use your hand to apply your body wash.

  • Tight clothes can make your tan rub off, so keep that in mind.
